Get to know James Horne

Introducing James Horne, one of our Parts Representatives who started with the company in November and is located at our Stirling depot.

We caught up with James to find out more about his work experience, his job role, and what he gets up to in his spare time.

Can you tell us about your previous work experience?

I have over 9 years of experience within the industry, most of it was spent as a full-time member of the Parts Department at Young’s Plant & Equipment Sales Ltd.

Why did you want to join HRN?

It’s an exciting new chapter for me in my life and I wanted to be part of a company that is focused on growth and also investing in their employees and I saw HRN as the perfect fit. I know that my knowledge and previous experience of the Kubota and Hyundai products will be beneficial to the company and I feel that I’m going to learn and develop being part of this amazing team. I’m really looking forward to being part of HRN’s journey of growth.

What are you enjoying about your new role with HRN?

I like everything about it, to be honest, my manager is great and so are the people I work beside. Stuart and Catherine couldn’t be any nicer towards myself and the rest of the staff. We are made to feel appreciated and I like the nice family-run vibe it has; you don’t get that in many large businesses. I’m looking forward to my future with HRN and helping them with their continual success.

When you’re not helping and selling parts, what do you like to do?

I am a bit of an adventurer… I am a Munro bagger, currently on number 29 and just 253 to go!!

I love motorbikes, I’m currently the proud owner of a 125cc 2 stroke 2005 Kawasaki dirt bike – it’s great to just get out and unwind.

I love spending valuable time with my girlfriend and my little girl who is 5 years old, she has been loving her last year of nursery and is starting Primary 1 next year. As a family, we love animals and we currently have a French bulldog called Biggie and three ferrets that live outside in hutches, plus we have one fish.

I suppose I just love being out and about, whether it’s enjoying fishing, camping, travelling, and going out with friends for dinner – though this year hasn’t been the best for it. You just have to make the most of the current situation and be thankful for what you have.
