Get to know Andy Wilson
Introducing our new Group Construction Sales Manager, Andy Wilson.
We wanted to find out more about Andy and his previous experience within the construction industry
Tell us a little about your previous experience in the construction industry?
I started with Young Plant back in 2004 as a parts assistant. I then worked extremely hard and became parts manager in 2006. As well as looking after the daily running of the Parts Department, I was also involved in carrying out demonstrations and customer training. I moved to the sales team in 2012 and gradually built up my customer base to where I am now, selling over 120 Kubota excavators each year as well as many other products.
What does your new role entail and how will this benefit the company?
With 17 years of Kubota and 10 years of Hyundai product knowledge, I should fit into the role very quickly and bring continuity to our customers.
Why did you decide to become part of the team and what are your hopes for your career?
I joined HRN once Kubota announced HRN would be a fully lined dealer. I have been championing and proudly promoting the Kubota product range for so long now, it would be hard to try and sell something else. Once the team and I are fully up and running, I would like to add other manufactures to the portfolio so we can provide a one-stop shop for the construction industry in Scotland.
When you’re not working hard selling to the construction industry, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I have a wife and 2 kids – the latter taking up lots of my time outside of work. I enjoy playing airsoft, which is similar to paintball but much more fun. Getting dressed up like a soldier and running around the woods shooting each other is great fun and a great way to relax.
