CD McNeill Tarmac & Civil Contractors

We recently caught up with Grant McNeill of CD McNeill, Tarmac & Civil Contractors of Dingwall, after he took delivery of two new Kubota KX030-4 excavators to add to their ever-growing fleet.

Find out what Grant had to say about his relationship with Kubota and HRN.

As a Company Partner of CD MCNEILL, a family-run business serving the Highlands for over 50 years, I cannot highlight enough the importance of having reliable machinery in our fleet. That’s why we choose Kubota excavators and have been loyal to the brand for over two decades.

It all began in the late 1990s when my father, Danny, purchased Kubota excavators from Brian Young at the Young Plant, Doune. We’ve had some KX91-2 versions that never let us down. We tried other well-known manufacturers, but after a while, we returned to the reliability of Kubota, after establishing a local branch in 2020.

We now own two Kubota Kx030-4 machines, one Kubota U10-3 micro machine, and one Kubota B1620 compact tractor for our winter maintenance snow-clearing contract. These machines have never been left vacant. This is critical for our operations in remote Highlands where we may be hours away from the next town/workshop and need reliable machinery.

These machines are not only dependable, but they are also highly user-friendly. Our workers can work longer in the field because they now have reliable machinery to back them up at all times. This is a huge plus for me as someone who values and always puts the safety and well-being of my staff first.

Per my research and experience, Kubota is currently the best brand on the market, and I’m delighted to have them as part of my fleet. However, it is not only the brand that makes it excellent but also the level of support that comes from the team at HRN Tractors. From early negotiations during the takeover process to the final equipment delivery from Leigh, HRN Tractors has been an exceptional partner!

The service has been flawless, and I appreciate how they ensure any parts and service kits ordered from James at HRN arrive at my depot the next day. This service is very important to us and has helped keep our operations running smoothly with minimum downtime.

I want to emphasise the importance of Kubota Excavators and HRN in our company’s success. Their assistance and experience have enabled us to grow and take on larger projects, which we would not have been able to do otherwise. I intend to keep our partnership with HRN and the Kubota brand going for a long time. As a family-owned company, we value trust, dependability, and long-term relationships, and we’ve found all this and more with Kubota and HRN.

Finally and most importantly, I want to thank HRN Tractors and Kubota for their excellent service and commitment to CD McNeill, Tarmac & Civil Contractors. They are always available and willing to go above and beyond to meet our needs. Their cooperation has been crucial to us, and I recommend them to anyone searching for dependable machinery and exceptional assistance.

As someone in the industry, I can tell you that Kubota excavators have changed the game for our company. Thanks to their dependability, user-friendly design, and topped off with the support that we get, we can complete our tasks swiftly and efficiently. If you’re looking for a reliable brand, Kubota is the way to go.
