It is due to our continued investment in growth, that an exciting opportunity has become available. We are actively looking to recruit a Logistics & Transport Manager to join our team at our Stirling depot.
This is a newly created role, and we are looking for the successful applicant to oversee all the transport operations across our 7 depots as well as delivering a first-class service worldwide. We have a large export side to our business where many of our machines are sold to each continent and in 2022, we sold over 2400 items of machinery which is an average of 200 machines a month across all our depots.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Transport & Logistics Manager to lead a team of 3 full-time HGV drivers and work alongside external companies to help HRN deliver a first-class service.
Role & Responsibility
- Main point of contact for all logistic/transport enquiries
- Planning & budgeting for nationwide and global transportation of machinery
- Leading & developing the transport team to meet the agreed customer & business standards
- Planning & monitoring of all transport & logistic processes
- Ensuring the routes comply with the drivers working time directive hours
- Responsible for the transport & logistic budget
- Ensuring that all Health and Safety and legal compliances are adhered to by the Transport Team
- Completing general transport administrative tasks, such as delivery confirmations, KPI reporting and driver compliance checks
- Dealing with customer complaints effectively and in a timely manner
- Organising VET Checks for machinery being exported abroad
Key Skills
- First-class organisational skills with the ability to plan and multi-task
- Efficient Route Planning for UK and Global deliveries.
- Able to work under pressure & prioritise workload
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal and able to communicate effectively with employees, customers, third parties and sub-contractors
- The ability to work within a commercially driven and time-critical environment.
- Competent user of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent telephone manner
The ideal candidate should have:
- Experience as a Transport Manager or similar responsibilities in the logistics industry (minimum 2 years)
- HGV Class 1 or 2 Driving licence (desirable)
- Knowledge of Transport Legislation
- Knowledge of Agriculture/Construction machinery (advantageous)
- A full driving licence
